description of blog

This photo was taken by our daughter, Sarah Timmons, or my wife, depending on who you ask. We were in Rehoboth Beach, DE on Easter Sunday, 2011.

Several years ago, on the way home from a family vacation, I picked up a notebook and quickly recorded an incident that had occurred involving our son. Eventually, I used that story to illustrate something about my spiritual walk as a believer in Christ. Thus began a deliberate attempt to document the significance of everyday events. Almost any ordinary circumstance in daily life can become fodder for another story. This, almost by definition, lends itself to a blog.

Of course, many of the entries here are just ordinary diary style stuff... the stuff of ordinary blogs. Good grief, I don't want to be ordinary.

I've done what I came for

You may consider it in poor taste to post this, so please know I've thought of that, and elected to post in anyway, because I want to say this:

Sarah and Tyler just gave us this sketch (which Sarah did) with the note on the back side. What they express is what Tina and I have striven for our whole lives. It is THE driving force behind most of what we do.

Those of you who know me well know that I'm very introspective, very hard on myself, and often have the concern I'm not quite walking in my calling to my full potential. I'm going to say it right here. I am almost 61 years of age. If I get run over by a truck today, I am leaving this earth without those concerns.

There is certainly more that we want to do, but with this simple thank you note from our daughter and son-in-law, I have complete confidence that my life is complete. Thank you Sarah and Tyler.
